Introducing the first release of our shoot
Visually, our 'Welcoming August' shoot captures a return to nature and is representative of a simpler lifestyle that we have found ourselves enjoying in recent months. The moodboard above, created by our intern Nicole, captures the coastal aesthetic we were aiming to portray.
The shoot took shape in just a week and was the result of an impulsive decision to try something different. As we continue to grow our online presence, it remains particularly important to translate our brand aesthetic digitally, so that those of you who are unable to visit us know exactly who we are.
We love sharing content with you but wanted to take this one step further by creating something styled by us. We have seen the process through from start to finish and couldn't be happier with the results.
Our location of choice was the seaside town of Barry and Barry Island in South Wales.
Used as the setting for hit TV show 'Gavin & Stacey', Barry is also famous for its golden beaches and colourful beach huts, which made the perfect backdrop for our coastal-inspired shoot.
Whitmore Bay and the neighbouring Barry Harbour were our spots of choice, although every shot felt like we'd been transported to a different luxury destination; from Hvar to Barbados.
It is amazing what can be achieved in a week!
Above shows just a snippet of the looks, planned meticulously on spreadsheets, that listed everything from shoes to hair accessories, to make sure we could fit in as many as possible during the day.
We travelled down to South Wales a day early to scout out the area and assigned each look to a backdrop, aided by owner Sam's friend Abi, who was our local tour guide.
Wandering round Barry during golden hour was the perfect way to generate excitement for the day to follow, and we even got to sample Barry's finest fish and chips at sunset.

We had an early start shooting statement V de Vinster blouses with relaxed acid wash jeans, all whilst going to great lengths to capture the winning shots. Wading through the sea to get to the perfect section of rocks, and realising we hadn't checked the tide times, was definitely a highlight.
With sunbathers looking on, changing outfits in the middle of the beach made for entertaining interludes in a very busy day, not to mention the added heat from the UK's tropical conditions that caused some of the team to fall victim to Barry-bados sunburn.
Above is some behind the scenes content of the day shooting our favourite summer dresses, staycation essentials and timeless accessories, all available to shop on our website.
