The July Bulletin

The July Bulletin

July kicked off with some serious sporting fervour when I was so lucky to be invited by my friend Zoe to join her for a day on Centre Court at Wimbledon. It was a huge treat to enjoy a day of hospitality, a delicious lunch and of course watch some really exciting tennis.

Then that same weekend I headed back down South to spend the day on the riverside for Henley Royal Regatta to celebrate my son Harry’s birthday with his godmother and my god-daughter for an afternoon tea in the enclosure. We all had the most amazing day; if you’ve never been then I can’t recommend it enough as it’s really not necessary to buy any form of ticket as you can simply pitch up with a picnic anywhere along the stretch of the Thames & watch the racing.

After the drought of fun over of the past two years, and as most of my contemporaries missed out on their half century birthdays; what a joy it was to attend the most fantastic Wild Western themed 50th party on the most beautiful evening. Lots of our friends and long standing clients were in attendance, and the birthday girl looked absolutely stunning, a lot of fun was had by all & everything was quite perfect.

July has definitely felt like one long celebration & I can’t tell you what a challenge it’s been to plan outfits for all of these events…I’m definitely out of practice! Next up was my daughter Alice’s MA graduation at Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Centre; it was such a great day in a really special venue. She wore a pink suit at her first graduation in Leeds so it seemed fitting to wear the same colour again…we celebrated with Margaritas & a delicious dinner at one of her favourite restaurants Balthazar, in Covent Garden as it was a convenient walk across the river via the Golden Jubilee Bridge; and now I have no children left in education!

You may think that after reading this bulletin that I’ve done very little work this month when actually nothing could be further from the truth! Behind the scenes my work life has been frenetic with the clearing & editing of the entire rear of our store. There was 12 years of accumulation of props and shop fittings in storage, archives of invoices along with things you feel like you might need at some point but never do… and it all had to be sorted and emptied in readiness for a new idea to reimagine the space launching in the Autumn. The decorating and refurbishment has begun in earnest and August is already a seriously busy month. More on this soon, so stay tuned!…

I really hope that you’re all enjoying your Summer so far and managing to get some quality time with family & friends.
